So, after all the shit I've put myself through the past year, I think it's time to do something really nice for myself and do things that I will enjoy. I've decided to take up photography a little more seriously. Yes, I have a little Nikon Coolpix point and shoot camera that I have used for a few years now. While it does quite a good job, I think it would be nice to upgrade to a DSLR.
So, after lots and lots of research... I am saving up for the Canon Rebel T2i. I even have a name picked out for my camera. I won't reveal that until I get my camera though. Surely no one else will appreciate the humor in the name (or even the reference to where it came from) that I've chosen except for me, but that's usually how my life goes.
So here it is...
that is a seriously nice 'lookin camera!
ReplyDeleteblew my mind going to a DSLR - was so used to a 35mm
camera and never knowing what concert photos were like
*UNTIL* I developed them!! so much more enjoyable now
- you'll have a lot of fun with that and it will be inspiring on
so many different levels
like the idea it will have a name ... await it's unveiling(!)
THIS is my *everyday* camera
- love the retro look of it (and the noise it makes when you turn it on!)
- wanted something I could fit in my pocket - so I was always prepared
if I saw someone I wanted to get a photo of - my other camera only
comes out for gigs etc!!
Thanks, George!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty excited to get it. I have to wait for my next paycheck but it will be so worth it. I'm super stoked to be able to take it to Yellowstone with me to try it out.
I think of all people, you might appreciate the name, but you'll see why when I reveal it. :)
That is a lovely camera. I also the sound it makes. I think i would wear out the camera simply for wanting to hear the sound...but I'm weird like that. Haha! How much did you pay for it?
really looking forward to finding out the name now!! the camera
ReplyDeletecost just over £100 ... I also switch it on and off to just hear the
noise! I know the zoom is not that great (they told me when I
bought it) there was a similar camera with better zoom but the
camera was ugly looking and I really liked the vintage look to
this! - even though it's all on auto, it's seems to only like bright
sunny days or people in darkened streets (those pics turn out
great!) - on a normal dull day it bleaches out faces horribly! -
I curse it but forgive it cause it makes that little noise and
also it looks so damn cute!
I'm curious about the name now - I await the announcement!
ReplyDeleteit was just over £100 - for some reason (occasionally) it
decides it only likes bright sunshine or dark streets(!)
it can be a dull day and it bleaches out faces horribly
- I look *real* professional asking to retake the photos!!
... it's all on the auto setting - so ?? - I forgive it cause I
love that noise too (!!) and the retro look of it - the zoom
isn't that good but I knew that when I bought it, there was
one with a better zoom but I didn't look half as nice
you'll have a great time with your camera - taking photos is
just inspiring in so many ways
hi jojo ... why 2 replies?!! the first was posted
ReplyDeletewhen blogspot went down on 12/13 may and loads of
posts/comments etc were removed cause they rolled
it back to a previous version of blogspot ... I
assumed it was lost forever, so sent another
reply - and now they have put back everything
that was originally posted when it went down!
... hence 2 replies saying the same thing!!
